Making Space for Peace

Sometimes you have to make some space for peace.  Because life is busy, and the to-do lists are never ending, and there’s always something pressing in and weighing down…and sometimes the way to find peace is to seek it out….to push all that’s busy and crazy around you aside, to slow down the pace and make room for peace.

That’s what we did today.

We took a little trip to Panola Mountain State Park near Atlanta, about a 1.5 hour drive from home, for a little “family adventure day.”  We hiked a little, had a picnic lunch, played on the playground, went out on the lake in a paddle boat, and just had fun together.  It was a beautiful, peaceful day.

There’s just something about getting outside and surrounding myself with nature…there’s something about exploring creation and breathing fresh air…it’s like a balm to my soul.  I love it.  It’s one of my favorite ways to infuse some peace into my days.
